Job summary

Dialpad is seeking a Corporate Counsel, Telecommunications & Regulatory to serve as the primary legal authority across regulatory surface areas, partnering with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Operations to ensure scalable compliance infrastructure.

The role focuses on FCC/state regulatory frameworks, consent and disclosure requirements for call recording, TCPA/FTSA exposure, and AI governance in a rapidly evolving landscape. California-based applicants are preferred.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of legal experience with telecom regulatory matters
• Familiarity with FCC rules and the Communications Act and their application to VoIP/cloud providers
• Experience advising on call recording consent law
• Working knowledge of TCPA and FTSA for platform vs. customer use cases
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and emerging state AI legislation

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Company’s authoritative regulatory counsel for FCC/state frameworks and interconnection obligations.
• Advise on call recording consent law and disclosure requirements across jurisdictions, including TCPA/FTSA exposure.
• Review AI features for regulatory compliance and state transparency laws, and provide product-level guidance.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Operations to implement scalable compliance infrastructure.
