Job summary

ChemPoint is seeking a Product Manager to manage, optimize, and grow product lines in line with supplier objectives and ChemPoint’s strategic aims.

You will act as the liaison with suppliers, analyze sales results, build product line plans, and coordinate with Demand Planning and Marketing to drive campaigns and pricing strategies. The role includes 20–25% travel to engage customers and industry events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years in a B2B sales organization or as Market Developer.
  • Experience with PC/Windows OS.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Consultative selling skills.
  • Versatility interacting with customers, suppliers and outsourced relationships.
  • Effective communication via multiple modes, including telephone.
  • Knowledge of ChemPoint products and industries served.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
  • Customer and territory management experience.
  • Pricing and marketing strategy knowledge.
  • Understanding of ChemPoint IT applications; XRM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Liaises as primary ChemPoint contact for suppliers; packages and presents sales data to set expectations.
  • Analyzes sales results, leads, and opportunities information; guides campaign strategy.
  • Builds product line plans and coordinates internal strategies with supplier and internal objectives.
  • Plans monthly/yearly projections with Demand Planning and Supply Chain for sold and bought items.
  • Collaborates with Market Developers on demand generation learnings and results.
  • Travels approximately 20–25% for customer engagement and events.
  • Mentors interns by assigning projects in relevant business areas.
  • Promotes ChemPoint culture by displaying energy, adaptability, innovation, and teamwork.
  • Keeps abreast of industry and global trends.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Job description

Primary Purpose

The primary responsibility of the Product Manager is to manage, optimize, and grow ChemPoint product lines in accordance with supplier investment and objectives and ChemPoint’s strategic aims.

What You'll Do
  • Acts as liaison and primary ChemPoint contact for suppliers; understands and leverages supplier partnership opportunities while packaging and presenting sales data to set and manage supplier expectations.
  • Analyzes sales results, leads, and opportunities information pertaining to product lines and provides direction to the marketing team for campaign strategy.
  • Builds product line plans and coordinates internal strategies that incorporate supplier and internal objectives, ensuring alignment by effectively implementing and monitoring sales execution, providing product line training and offering first‑line support on pricing issues.
  • Works with Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams, using knowledge of the customer base and industry to plan monthly/yearly projections for what will be sold and what will need to be bought to service the customer base.
  • Collaborates with Market Developers on the learnings and results of all demand generation activities.
  • Travels approximately 20–25% as needed for customer engagement, team meetings, and industry events.
  • Mentors interns by providing projects and tasks to assist in relevant business areas.
  • Aligns behavior and actions with ChemPoint culture by showing up with energy, promoting and adapting to change, initiating and promoting innovation, leading with courage, and having fun.
  • Shows interest in industry and global trends.
  • Demonstrates job competencies and remains accountable for performance in the area of responsibility.
  • Performs other related duties as required or requested.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year institution or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in a business-to-business sales organization, preferably as a Market Developer, or 5+ years of equivalent technical sales experience.
  • Experience and strong knowledge of using PC and Windows OS.
  • Knowledge and experience working with MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
  • Consultative selling skills.
  • Versatility when interacting with customers, suppliers, and outsourced relationships.
  • Effective communication via multiple modes, including excellent telephone skills.
  • Knowledge of ChemPoint products & services and the industries served.
  • Problem‑solving and negotiation skills.

Hybrid role in Bellevue, WA or The Woodlands, TX.

Pay and Benefits
  • The salary range for this position is $113,920 – $142,400 annually.
  • Salary may be influenced by relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
