Job Title: ServiceNow Technical Product Owner – BCM, SecOps, GRC & Custom Applications

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Technical Product Owner to work closely with Product, Project, Development, and Business teams to define, prioritize, and deliver ServiceNow solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with ServiceNow products, particularly Business Continuity Management (BCM), Security Operations (SecOps), Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), and Custom Applications.
The Product Owner will be responsible for translating business needs into technical requirements, managing the product roadmap and backlog, and ensuring features are developed, tested, and delivered according to business expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the product vision and maintain the product roadmap based on business objectives.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the product/development team.
- Understand stakeholder business processes and anticipate business needs.
- Collaborate with users and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate requirements into product features.
- Manage, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog based on changing business requirements.
- Create detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate backlog refinement and Agile/Scrum sessions.
- Ensure requirements are clearly understood, developed, tested, and delivered according to specifications.
- Represent project stakeholders throughout planning, development, and release processes.
- Create and manage product releases.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report product progress throughout the development lifecycle.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure alignment with business strategy and ServiceNow best practices.
- Drive stakeholder adoption and build consensus among competing stakeholders.
- Facilitate discovery workshops to understand business concepts, requirements, and alignment.
- Perform business process gap analysis and recommend solutions to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Demonstrate product iterations to customers before release and gather feedback/approval.
- Support and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Educate users on new features through release notes, feature overviews, and demonstrations.
- Provide consultative technical and/or business-process leadership to the ServiceNow platform team.
- Interpret and validate technical specifications and solution designs.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and product reviews.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in ServiceNow-related roles.
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner supporting ServiceNow products.
- 3+ years of Product Owner experience with one or more of the following:
- ServiceNow BCM
- SecOps
- GRC
- Custom ServiceNow Applications
- Strong knowledge of BCM and SecOps implementation, best practices, roadmap development, adoption, and integration with related ServiceNow applications such as ITSM.
- Strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform, its technical capabilities, applications, and internal integrations.
- Proven experience managing product backlogs and prioritizing requirements.
- Experience defining user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify downstream implications.
- Ability to align business processes and requirements with technical implementation.
- Strong stakeholder management and consensus-building skills.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- ServiceNow Platform Certification – strongly preferred.
- Agile/Scrum certification – strongly preferred.
- ServiceNow Presales accreditation/experience – preferred.
