Job summary

U.S. Energy Development Corporation seeks a Product Owner for Financial Systems to bridge Accounting and Technology, owning the roadmap for Enertia and related platforms.

You will partner with Accounting to map workflows, define data needs, and drive automation and data quality across systems. You will translate business requirements into technical specs, collaborate with Data Engineering, and support reliable reporting with BI tools like Power BI.

• Define financial data mappings, business rules, and ETL requirements and partner with Data Engineering to deliver them.
• Lead financial systems and data initiatives from concept through implementation.
• Troubleshoot complex system and data issues and help ensure data integrity across platforms.
• Partner with BI and Data teams on reliable reporting and analytics, including Power BI.
• Support data governance and validate information used for financial, investor, and compliance reporting.

U.S. Energy is looking for a Product Owner, Financial Systems to serve as the bridge between our Accounting and Technology teams.

This is not a heads-down IT role. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working directly with people, digging into how a business actually operates, and figuring out how technology and data can make it better.

The right person will spend meaningful time with our Accounting team—learning their workflows, understanding where processes break down or become unnecessarily manual, and translating those needs into practical technology and data solutions. Enertia and its integrations will be at the center of the role, but success will depend just as much on relationships, curiosity, and business understanding as technical expertise.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

Above all, we need someone who can build trust with the business. You should be comfortable sitting down with Accounting team members, asking good questions, learning how and why they do their work, and then translating that knowledge for technical teams.

You’ll also bring:

• 5+ years of experience in business analysis, product ownership, financial systems, or a similar role.
• Strong experience mapping and improving business processes through direct stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical and data requirements.
• Strong understanding of data structures, mapping, ETL concepts, and data quality.
• Working SQL knowledge for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

Even Better If You Have

• Enertia or another upstream oil and gas ERP/accounting platform experience.
• Knowledge of oil and gas accounting, including revenue, JIB, and production accounting.
• Experience working with ETL/data engineering resources.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Power BI, data governance, or medallion architecture.
• Financial services or fund accounting experience.
