The Product Owner / Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting and documenting requirements from stakeholders and leading the team to deliver value to customers. The role involves creating detailed, comprehensible requirements for both business and technical teams, proposing solutions for complex business areas, preparing specifications, and assisting with testing.

Applicants should have several years of experience managing and delivering complex software projects, with a solid understanding of Agile methodologies and a reputation for attention to detail. You will communicate business goals clearly, build shared understanding among teams and stakeholders, and assist with backlog grooming and product definition.

Note: Applicants must be located in Virginia.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate effectively in an Agile environment, working in a fast-paced, innovative, and team-oriented setting.
  2. Manage and maintain the product backlog, including grooming and definition.
  3. Communicate proactively with customers to create and refine user stories, process flows, and test cases.
  4. Evaluate information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and translate high-level requests into detailed requirements.
  5. Apply strong analytical skills to interpret customer needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  6. Develop product strategies from inception to implementation.
  7. Manage decisions impacting the final product throughout its development lifecycle.
  8. Apply Lean principles for efficient delivery.
  9. Elicit requirements through interviews, workshops, analysis, and other methods.
  10. Define acceptance criteria with the scrum team.
  11. Ensure delivered solutions meet stakeholder requirements.
  12. Create wireframes, mockups, and user journeys for various devices.
  13. Utilize UX methodologies to uncover user needs and identify improvement opportunities.
  14. Lead with emerging UX best practices, trends, and technologies.
  15. Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish technical visions and analyze usability tradeoffs.
  16. Review test plans and scripts, maintain issue logs, and support post-implementation activities.
  17. Create strategic documents and white papers for executive management.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
  1. Extensive experience managing complex software projects.
  2. Deep understanding of Agile project management.
  3. Exceptional attention to detail.
  4. Experience with QA procedures and SQL queries.
  5. Knowledge of OBDII technology is a plus.
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, JIRA, UX/UI Design, and Agile Scrum.
  7. Web development skills with Java, JavaScript, HTML5, Angular, REST, etc.
Education & Certification:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or related field, with 5+ years of experience in product management or technical solutions.
  2. Certified Scrum Product Owner preferred.
  3. Experience in the automotive industry or with top-tier tech consulting is advantageous.
