Position Information

Position Overview

The Mid Level Product Owner contributes to a collaborative environment where usable, viable, and feasible solutions are developed to meet the business needs of customers.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for adhering to all HealthStream security policies, procedures, and assigned training.

  • Help drive product portfolio vision and represent IT operational challenges and efficiencies in these discussions
  • Collaborate with Product Management to translate strategic vision into executable epics, features, and user stories
  • Break down complex, high-level ideas into clear and technically feasible implementation plans
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering, UX, and Product teams to ensure alignment and shared understanding of scope and goals
  • Lead cross-team initiatives, ensuring consistency and reuse across products and platforms
  • Represent IT and operational considerations in product discussions, identifying process efficiencies and technical dependencies early
  • Drive continuous improvement in product discovery, delivery, and release processes
  • Mentor and coach junior Product Owners and Analysts, supporting skill development and consistency in best practices
  • Collaborate with UX and Engineering to support design and technical solutioning; challenge assumptions to find optimal approaches
  • Prioritize and maintain a healthy product backlog that reflects business value, technical complexity, and team capacity
  • Ensure delivered functionality meets business requirements through close collaboration with QA and user acceptance testing
  • Define and track product success metrics and KPIs; partner with stakeholders to assess value delivered
  • Develop and evolve processes that ensure smooth transitions of features into production and support
  • Communicate consistently, clearly, and proactively with stakeholders across technical and business domains
  • Identify, track, and resolve impediments to ensure consistent delivery velocity

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Information Technology
  • Minimum 3 years in Product Owner role
  • Proficient in project management principles
  • Proficient in agile development principles
  • Familiarity with user experience design principles and methods

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or product ownership, preferably in SaaS, healthcare, or regulated industries.
  • Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with a deep understanding of product lifecycle management.
  • Strong technical fluency, including familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, CSS, APIs) and how they impact product development.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams, driving product strategy, and delivering impactful solutions to market.
