Job summary

Muon Space in San Jose, CA is seeking a Product Manager II to own how much data our missions get to the ground and how we prove it. You will manage bits-to-ground communications across RF and optical links, simulation, and software test, reporting to a Director of Product Management.

This hybrid role requires working on-site three days per week, partnering with engineering and mission systems to drive roadmap decisions, customer insight, and acceptance criteria across software systems.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of product management experience in technically complex environments.
• Experience in communications systems, simulation, or test infrastructure.
• Experience collaborating with multiple engineering teams simultaneously.
• Ability to translate customer needs into detailed product requirements and acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Own the product roadmap for bits-to-ground communications across RF and optical links.
• Own the Muon Sim roadmap and throughput analysis for mission design operations.
• Grow simulation into a tool for software iteration and testing against the digital twin.
• Define and prioritize features to improve quality, schedule, or customer value.
• Author PRDs, align stakeholders, and drive roadmap decisions.
• Coordinate with PM leadership on build/buy strategy and cross-team alignment.
• Conduct customer interviews and translate insights into roadmap decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering across ground software, simulation, test, and mission systems.
