Role overview

This is a founding Product Manager role at a high-growth B2B SaaS company whose software helps developers and security teams find, audit, and manage open source dependencies without slowing down shipping. With strong product-market fit and a large customer base already in place, the role centers on shaping what the team builds next, owning end-to-end product strategy, and inventing the product practices the organization will scale on.

Responsibilities

• Own prioritization across customer commitments, support escalations, reliability work, and greenfield opportunities, making explicit what each new commitment displaces.
• Run firsthand discovery through customer interviews, ride-alongs on customer-engineering and sales calls, and early solution testing to validate problems before they turn into builds.
• Partner with engineering and design to translate priorities into requirements, user stories, success criteria, and project plans with clear owners, dependencies, and milestones.
• Engage seriously with technical constraints and cost tradeoffs, including the developer-experience cost of features like added build time.
• Maintain an up-to-date picture of contractual and exploratory commitments, guiding go-to-market teams on what can be promised and how firmly.
• Document expected benefit and key assumptions per investment, track adoption and outcomes post-launch, and feed learnings back into the next planning cycle.

Requirements

• Several years of product management experience, ideally owning developer-facing, security, or infrastructure products in a B2B SaaS environment.
• A track record of making hard prioritization calls under real capacity limits and defining product boundaries.
• Enough technical depth to hold conversations with engineers and customers on topics like CI/CD pipelines, lockfiles, and build-time regressions.
• Strong customer curiosity: ability to reach the underlying problem rather than relaying feature requests, and to confirm understanding without overcommitting.
• Proven ability to influence engineering, customer engineering, sales, and leadership without relying on formal authority, plus strength in risk surfacing and alignment.
• Clear, concise written communication suited to a heavily async working style.

Nice to have

• Background in software supply chain security, application security, vulnerability management, or security platforms.
• Experience building products for developers or security teams and familiarity with enterprise software evaluation cycles.
• Prior experience joining as an early or first dedicated Product Manager.
