Job summary

Handle is seeking a Product Manager to join as an early core member of our product team and lead a new product from zero to launch. This role is hands-on and highly autonomous, guiding discovery, requirements, delivery, and iterations with engineering and GTM partners.

You will translate customer insights into a concrete product strategy, craft detailed requirements, and drive a focused roadmap to deliver high-impact fintech solutions for the construction ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years in product management, including time in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Technical fluency to write detailed requirements and partner closely with engineering to ship high-impact products.
  • Strong understanding of the B2B fintech and payments value chain, with the judgment to turn it into prioritization decisions.
  • Fluency with AI tools across your work, from drafting and pressure-testing PRDs to competitive and domain research to front-end prototyping.
  • Strong customer empathy and a track record of working directly with customers and prospects to scope and design products.
  • High agency and sound product judgment; you form and defend a point of view, not just execute a backlog.

Responsibilities

  • Take a new product from zero to one: own direction, scope, and outcome from concept through launch and iterations.
  • Live close to the customer: run discovery with suppliers, contractors, and prospects and translate insights into a clear product viewpoint.
  • Get hands dirty: scope, draft, design, and prototype the product and present working concepts to customers and engineering.
  • Make the calls: turn your point of view into detailed technical requirements, a prioritized roadmap, and decisions on what ships now versus later.
  • Ship and iterate with your pod: work with a small engineering team to ship quickly and measure and improve live product.
  • Keep everyone aligned: communicate progress, risks, and decisions with engineering, design, and leadership.

Job description

Who We Are

Handle is a Y Combinator-backed technology company changing how money moves through the $2 trillion U.S. construction industry. We build the tools construction participants rely on to get paid, spanning credit risk, payments, and lien rights, and bringing transparency, confidence, and control to every decision.

Our software sits in our customers' daily workflows, from Fortune 500 suppliers to publicly traded contractors, and we've found real product-market fit in a market most software has overlooked. Backed by leading financial and strategic investors in our space, we're accelerating growth and expanding from one strong product into a multi-product platform.

About the Role

We're hiring a Product Manager to be a foundational early member of our product team and take a new product from zero to launch. This is hands‑on and high‑ownership: you'll own the work end to end, from discovery and customer research through requirements, delivery, and iteration, partnering closely with engineering and go-to-market along the way. You'll turn ambiguous problems into shipped product and help set the bar for how we build. If you're energized by early‑stage, 0‑to‑1 work and want to own an outcome rather than a backlog, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do
  • Take a new product from zero to one. Own the direction, the scope, and the outcome, from first concept through launch and the iterations after it.
  • Live close to the customer. Run discovery with suppliers, contractors, and prospects, and turn what you hear into a sharp point of view on what to build and why.
  • Get hands dirty. Scope, draft, design, and prototype the product yourself, putting working concepts in front of customers and engineering rather than handing off documents.
  • Make the calls. Turn that point of view into detailed technical requirements your engineering team can build from, a prioritized roadmap, and clear decisions about what ships now versus later
  • Ship and iterate with your pod. Partner tightly with a small, dedicated engineering team to get to production fast, then measure, learn, and improve what is live.
  • Keep everyone aligned. Bring engineering, design, and leadership along with clear, frequent updates on progress, risks, and decisions.
What You'll Bring
Required
  • Three to five years in product management, including time in a fast‑paced startup environment.
  • Technical fluency to write detailed requirements and partner closely with engineering to ship high‑impact products.
  • Strong understanding of the B2B fintech and payments value chain, with the judgment to turn it into prioritization decisions.
  • Fluency with AI tools across your work, from drafting and pressure‑testing PRDs to competitive and domain research to front‑end prototyping.
  • Strong customer empathy and a track record of working directly with customers and prospects to scope and design products.
  • High agency and sound product judgment; you form and defend a point of view, not just execute a backlog.
Preferred
  • Prior experience building a new product from scratch.
  • Background in credit/lending, order‑to‑cash, or B2B fintech.
  • Construction or fintech industry experience.
