Join to apply for the Product Manager role at Stratus

Stratus provides a powerful suite of MEP-specific solutions that digitize, automate, and optimize contractor workflows from design to fabrication to installation. Our platform—used by some of the most innovative and largest MEP contractors in North America—serves as the critical software layer enabling “Data Driven Contracting” for piping, plumbing, sheet metal, and electrical teams. With deep industry knowledge and customer partnerships, Stratus empowers contractors to build smarter, faster, and more profitably.

We’re hiring a Product Manager to help define and deliver high-impact features that serve the real-world needs of contractors using Stratus every day. You’ll work across the product lifecycle—from customer discovery to roadmap planning to go-to-market—and play a hands-on role in evolving the platform’s value to one or more key personas within the contractor workflow.

You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Go-to-Market teams to deeply understand our users, prioritize the right problems, and ensure delivery of elegant, practical solutions that integrate seamlessly into construction environments. You’ll be expected to learn and speak the language of the trades and to advocate for solutions that make life on the jobsite, in the fab shop, or in the VDC office measurably better.

We’re looking for someone who’s curious, execution-oriented, and experienced in construction technology. You might have worked on tools for BIM coordination, field operations, prefab, material management, or shop workflows—and you understand how to convert insight into action.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Ownership

  • Own the roadmap for a persona-driven area of the Stratus platform
  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to define and refine product priorities.
  • Translate customer feedback, support tickets, and market trends into well-defined product requirements.
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities through a lens of customer value, feasibility, and alignment with company goals.

Workflow & User Experience

  • Become an expert in the day-to-day tasks, constraints, and goals of your target users—whether in the shop, in the field, or in the VDC office.
  • Partner with Design and Engineering to develop user-centric solutions that fit naturally into contractor workflows.
  • Champion simplicity, clarity, and usability in all product experiences.

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Collaborate with Engineering on sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release readiness.
  • Work closely with Support, QA, and Customer Success to ensure a high-quality product experience.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Sales to ensure new features are clearly positioned and adopted.

Customer & Market Insights

  • Conduct user interviews, site visits, and product walkthroughs to stay close to the customer voice.
  • Monitor industry trends in MEP, prefab, BIM, construction automation, and jobsite technology.
  • Help validate and refine Stratus’ product-market fit across multiple customer types and segments.

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in construction tech, BIM/VDC, prefab, or field ops.
  • A generalist mindset with the ability to quickly learn new domains and adapt to evolving product ownership.
  • Strong technical collaboration skills, with comfort working alongside Engineering teams on complex platform integrations.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering customer insights and turning them into actionable product decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, especially with non-technical audiences like trade professionals.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and tools for product discovery, design collaboration, and roadmapping.
  • Passion for solving real-world problems in construction, with a bias toward pragmatic, user-focused innovation.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience working directly with MEP contractors, fab shop leads, field foremen, or BIM/VDC managers.
  • Understanding of construction data standards, material tracking, prefab workflows, or mobile-first design principles.
  • A background in construction, engineering, or architecture—or hands-on exposure to the trades.

Why Stratus?

Stratus is transforming how MEP contractors operate by connecting design, shop, and field with modern digital workflows. As part of our team, you’ll help shape the tools that enable the most forward-thinking contractors in North America to build faster, more profitably, and with greater precision. If you’re passionate about construction technology and love solving hard problems with great people, we’d love to meet you.

This is a remote role, but candidates must be based in the U.S.
