Job summary

Abridge is seeking a Product Lead to partner with ML Science on our foundation-model and post-training work. You will own the product strategy connecting research bets to outcomes, decide workloads and evidence needed, and drive production-ready capabilities from a proprietary corpus of clinical data.

This role sits at the intersection of model science, platform strategy, and clinical product delivery in a SF-based setting, with clinician value and patient safety at the core.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in product management with ML-powered products or AI infrastructure.
• Track record turning ambiguous capabilities into shipped products with measurable impact.
• Strong understanding of the modern model-development lifecycle from data strategy to deployment.
• Ability to reason with ML scientists and engineers on objectives and tradeoffs.
• Judgment on when proprietary models provide advantage vs external or conventional systems.
• Experience aligning multiple teams around decisions, dependencies and speed.
• Commitment to evidence, safety, and trust in clinical AI initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, conveying strategy to researchers and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Set product strategy for Abridge's model family across capability, quality, latency, cost, safety, and controllability.
• Own the path from research to measurable product impact with milestones and gates.
• Turn proprietary data signals into training priorities and product improvements.
• Make model investment decisions and define when to use frontier vs open models or in-house models.
• Partner with Evals to define promotion criteria and evaluation standards.
• Create a learning loop converting failures and clinician feedback into prioritized training.
• Drive cross-functional execution among ML Science, ML Engineering, Product Eng, Clinical Science, Data, and pods.
• Communicate strategy clearly to executives and product teams, separating evidence from bets.
