Job summary

Clarios invites motivated students to join as a summer internship in Milwaukee. You will explore battery cell chemistries, perform teardowns, and help design test plans while collaborating with the cell test and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry or Materials Science.
• Willing to be in the greater Milwaukee area in the summer.
• Duration: Summer 2027. Up to 40 hours per week.
• Hybrid internship – must have a quiet workspace away from interruptions, with the option to work in the office.
• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

What You Will Do

• Support the investigation and evaluation of potential battery cell suppliers and emerging energy storage technologies.
• Work with cutting edge cell chemistries including Li Ion, Na Ion; UCaps.
• Perform cell teardowns to understand chemistry and mechanical cell designs.
• Help develop test plans and monitor cell testing activities.
• Partner with the cell test team to coordinate testing and collect performance data.
• Analyze test results and create reports, presentations, and data visualizations to communicate findings.
• Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to identify cell technologies that best meet customer requirements.

How You Will Do It

• Assist with comparing cell chemistries and designs to determine performance, quality, and application fit.
• Review and summarize performance data and reports from cell suppliers.
• Document and summarize teardown observations and technical evaluations.
• Assist with requirements analysis and validation planning for customer-focused projects.
