Clarios is seeking a summer internship focused on battery cell technology evaluation and testing. You will assist in supplier assessment, analyze cell teardowns, and help design test plans while coordinating with the cell test team to gather performance data.
The role requires being a current undergraduate student in chemistry or related fields, with up to 40 hours/week and a hybrid work setup in the Milwaukee area during Summer 2027.
Support the investigation and evaluation of potential battery cell suppliers and emerging energy storage technologies. Work with cutting edge cell chemistries including Li Ion, Na Ion; UCaps. Perform cell teardowns to understand chemistry and mechanical cell designs. Help develop test plans and monitor cell testing activities. Partner with the cell test team to coordinate testing and collect performance data. Analyze test results and create reports, presentations, and data visualizations to communicate findings. Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to identify cell technologies that best meet customer requirements.
Assist with comparing cell chemistries and designs to determine performance, quality, and application fit. Review and summarize performance data and reports from cell suppliers. Document and summarize teardown observations and technical evaluations. Assist with requirements analysis and validation planning for customer-focused projects.
Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university. Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry or Materials Science. Ability to be in the greater Milwaukee area in the summer. Duration: Summer 2027. Up to 40 hours per week. Working Arrangements: Hybrid internship - must have a quiet workspace away from interruptions, with the option to work in the office. Be able to maintain regular contact with the supervisor/team via virtual methods.
