Pelican Products, Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking a Product Engineer I to drive design and development from concept through production. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with vendors to ensure on-time, on-budget product launches.

The role emphasizes hands-on mechanical design, testing, and problem solving, with opportunities to influence cost, quality, and manufacturability of protective cases and related products.

Competenze

• 3-5 years of product design and project management experience.
• Strong mechanical engineering and product design fundamentals.
• Experience from initial design through manufacturing.
• Basic proficiency with 3D solid modeling CAD software.
• Ability to manage multiple engineering projects and priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel to vendors to address requirements.

Mansioni

• Design Pelican cases and other products from concept to manufacturing and production implementation.
• Manage multiple new product development, product line extension, and product improvement projects.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities to release new products on time and within budget.
• Develop concepts and engineering solutions using mechanical design principles and CAD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across development, production, and post-launch support.
• Develop test plans and methods to evaluate design, performance, and quality.
• Analyze test results and resolve quality and engineering issues.
• Identify cost-saving and quality-improvement opportunities in products and processes.
• Support transition of designs from engineering into manufacturing.
• Serve as engineering liaison with vendors and customers on technical matters.
• Travel to suppliers to discuss designs and address technical issues.
