Job summary

Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Product Development Engineer (PDE) to join our Hardware Engineering team in Tucson, AZ. The PDE will act as SME for manufacturability of PCB/CCA products, guiding design teams on BOMs, finishes, rework methods, and IPC/MIL compliance to achieve cost and cycle-time goals.

You will lead design reviews, coordinate with suppliers and design engineers, and mentor peers to improve producibility while ensuring alignment with project schedules and procurement needs.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience to include at least two of the following: PCB manufacturing; Circuit card assembly; IPC and MIL specifications and design guides; The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Host and facilitate design reviews for PCB/CCA designs from inception to manufacturing.
• Provide onsite supplier support travel and coordinate between RTX stakeholders and suppliers.
• Mentor teammates on circuit card assembly manufacturing and IPC specs.
• Drive design, procurement and build schedule to meet program needs.
• Generate drawing notes and review Technical Data Package (TDP) to IPC specs.
• Perform design for manufacturability analyses and BOM management for optimal CCA manufacturing.
