Job summary

Daifuku Intralogistics America seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead development of new product designs for automated material handling systems in Michigan. You will supervise design teams, ensure manufacturability, reliability, and safety, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality and suppliers on complex projects.

Requires a Bachelor's in engineering, at least six years in material handling, and experience with conveyor or automation equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum 6 years of material handling experience.
• Experience designing conveyor, sortation or automation equipment.
• Experience designing parts for volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Creates product designs manufacturable, scalable, and desirable to customers.
• Leads work teams and mentors less senior members.
• Ensures designs are safe, reliable and maintainable.
• Uses modeling and simulation to validate designs and meet standards.
• Collaborates with design, manufacturing, quality, purchasing and vendors.
• Performs on-site testing and verification; travels up to 20%.
