Job summary

Kaas Tailored in Mukilteo, WA is seeking a Product Developer to design and deliver new furniture and aerospace products from concept to production. You will lead design efforts, collaborate with Account Management, Purchasing, and Production, and translate customer needs into manufacturable solutions using CAD tools.

Ideal candidates bring CAD proficiency, strong manufacturing process knowledge, and hands-on fabrication experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX, Fusion 360).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production methods.
• Experience developing or optimizing manufacturing processes and production workflows.
• Familiarity with aerospace requirements, commercial furniture, feasibility studies and continuous improvement.
• Continuous learner mentality.
• Fabrication experience utilizing hand tools; CNC machinery and woodshop experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with process documentation such as work instructions and SOPs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Upholstery and Soft Goods Fabrication: apply hands-on upholstery skills to construct, fit, and refine prototypes.
• Develop BOMs and SOPs for continued manufacturing.
• Lead the design and development of new products from concept to production using CAD.
• Collaborate with Account Management, Purchasing, and Production to meet customer needs and company goals.
• Work with industrial designers to ensure manufacturability and meet technical specs.
• Present prototypes to customers for feedback and incorporate revisions.
• Build and maintain customer relationships to support repeat collaboration.
