Job summary

Contract Industrial Tooling, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer to design concepts using CAD, model and test prototypes, and develop design proposals for projects.

You will oversee prototype development, confirm designs with cross-functional teams, and ensure materials and parts meet production capabilities and standards. The role requires strong communication, project management, and hands-on SolidWorks expertise, with the ability to manage multiple projects and document design decisions

• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to coworkers, customers, and suppliers.
• Ability to manage several projects at one time.
• Able to work independently on a project through its completion with minimum supervision.
• Impeccable attention to detail and ability to work within short time lines with speed and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Use computer-aided design (CAD) to design concepts.
• Design, model, and test prototypes for products.
• Conduct research and create design proposals for projects.
• Establish design briefs; organize and maintain engineering records.
• Oversee prototype development and confirm designs with purchasing/customer team.
• Create concepts that meet our production capabilities.
• Identify and select materials needed for production.
• Create parts lists.
• Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and customer standards.
