Job summary

Fiber Global is seeking a hands-on Furniture Development Designer to support furniture products for Monarch by Fiber Global. You will translate concepts into practical 3D CAD solutions, collaborating with design, engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to move ideas forward.

This role focuses on real-world construction, assembly, testing, and manufacturing processes rather than pure rendering; candidates should have strong CAD skills, a relevant degree, and a portfolio.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Product Design, Mechanical Design, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, Creo or comparable tools.
• Ability to translate design concepts into detailed 3D CAD models.
• Understanding of physical product construction and manufacturing.
• Ability to read and create technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Collaborate across design, engineering and manufacturing.
• Portfolio required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Translate design concepts, sketches, dimensions, references, and product requirements into detailed 3D CAD models.
• Develop and refine product dimensions, structures, connections, hardware integration, and assembly details.
• Support the preparation of designs for prototyping, testing, and manufacturing review.
• Update CAD models based on design, engineering, manufacturing, production, or testing feedback.
• Assist with technical drawings, dimensions, part information, and other product-development documentation as needed.
• Evaluate design solutions for practical considerations such as fit, assembly, stability, material usage, tolerances, and manufacturability.
• Participate in prototype reviews and physical product evaluation when required.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams as needed to review prototypes, resolve design issues, and support product development.
• Contribute to design-for-manufacturing improvements while maintaining the intended product design.
• Maintain organized CAD files, design revisions, and supporting documentation.
• Support additional product-development and design initiatives based on evolving project and business needs.
