Job summary

IllTip is seeking a product designer in the United States to turn written specs and rough frames into polished UI designs for dense, operation-focused software. You will collaborate with the Head of Product to shape dashboards and command-and-control interfaces for autonomous assets.

The role requires shipping high-quality Figma designs, building reusable components, and close collaboration with engineers to ensure designs are clear and implementable. US-based applicants only.

This is a product design role at a defense technology company building autonomous aircraft and command-and-control software for coordinating large groups of unmanned assets. The team has a track record of launching complex aerospace hardware and negotiating major government programs. You will work directly with the Head of Product to turn written specifications, workflow descriptions, and rough frame descriptions into polished, buildable interface designs for dense, operational software.

Responsibilities

• Convert detailed product specifications into high-quality Figma designs for command-and-control and operational tools.
• Design workflows and layouts for information-dense interfaces, filling in interaction details and edge cases independently.
• Build and maintain reusable Figma components and patterns to keep the product consistent as features are added.
• Work closely with engineers to make designs clear and implementable, and review built functionality against design intent.
• Iterate quickly based on feedback from operators, engineers, and customers.
• Help shape the overall UX architecture as the product expands.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio of shipped software or product design work, with fast turnaround from concept to detailed UI.
• Experience designing complex dashboards, data-heavy tools, or similar operational software.
• Excellent visual and product judgment, plus the ability to decide which questions need escalation and which details to solve directly.
• Clear communication with engineers and product leaders.
• Must meet the US person requirement above (US citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible for State Department authorization).
