TalentDome Staffing is partnering with an innovative AI tech company to hire a Lead Product Designer. This hands-on, player-coach role involves mentoring two designers while actively designing, prototyping, and delivering products.

You will collaborate with frontend engineers, ML teams, and leadership to translate AI capabilities into intuitive, production-ready interfaces while maintaining visual quality and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years in product design, preferably B2B/technical products.
• Experience leading or mentoring designers while staying hands-on.
• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end ownership and simplifying complex workflows.
• Proficiency in Figma with ability to read/modify React, TS, Tailwind CSS.
• Experience building/designing design systems and tokens.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor a two-person team while remaining a hands-on contributor to product design.
• Own design across AI and computer vision apps including dashboards, maps, timelines, and model training interfaces.
• Translate prototypes into production-ready applications.
• Define product requirements, user flows, edge cases, and acceptance criteria.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, hands‑on Lead Product Designer.

This is a player‑coach position. You will mentor and guide two team members while remaining actively involved in designing, prototyping, and delivering products yourself.

You will work closely with frontend engineers, machine learning teams, and product leadership to turn complex AI capabilities into intuitive, polished products.

This is not a traditional design management position. We are looking for someone who enjoys being hands‑on, can move comfortably between Figma and code, and takes ownership from initial concept through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of two while remaining a hands‑on contributor to product design.
• Own product design across AI and computer vision applications, including dashboards, maps, timelines, model training interfaces, and agentic AI workflows.
• Translate machine learning prototypes into intuitive, user-friendly, production‑ready applications.
• Define product requirements, user flows, interaction states, edge cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Prototype and iterate directly in the application using React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Own and evolve the design system, including reusable components, design tokens, and visual consistency across applications.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, machine learning, and product leadership.
• Maintain a high standard of visual design, usability, accessibility, motion, and consistency.
• Use AI‑powered design and development tools to accelerate product development.
• Balance team leadership responsibilities with hands‑on design and delivery.

Requirements

• 7+ years of product design experience, preferably with complex B2B, data‑intensive, or technical products.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring, or guiding other designers while remaining hands‑on.
• A strong portfolio of shipped products demonstrating end‑to‑end design ownership and the ability to simplify complex workflows.
• Strong proficiency in Figma, with the ability to read and modify React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Experience using AI design and coding tools in daily workflows.
• Experience building and maintaining design systems, reusable components, and design tokens.
• Ability to translate product concepts into clear specifications that engineering teams can implement.
• Strong visual design skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with a high degree of ownership.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
