Job description

Gather Health is hiring its first Product Designer to shape two connected products, Gather Connect and Gather Care, with a focus on strengthening the relationship between patients and care teams.

Responsibilities
  • Spend time with patients and care teams to understand goals, relationships, routines, and constraints.
  • Observe real workflows, conduct interviews, and test prototypes to identify where technology supports human connection without adding friction.
  • Translate insights into user flows, prototypes, detailed interactions, and polished visual design.
  • Partner with engineering from early concept through implementation and release.
  • Design Gather Connect across phone conversations, onboarding, patient preferences, and future digital touchpoints.
  • Create AI-enabled interactions that feel natural, respectful, and trustworthy, including scripts, dialogue flows, clear handoffs to people, and recovery paths when conversations go wrong.
  • Turn complex longitudinal patient information into clinical interfaces that help care teams view the whole person.
  • Design patient summaries, prioritized needs, recommended next steps, and follow-up workflows that support thoughtful, timely care.
  • Support clinicians in using AI-generated insights while preserving context and control.
  • Make sources, timing, and uncertainty understandable; enable quick feedback and correction; reinforce clinical judgment.
  • Establish reusable components and practical design conventions for a small team, maintaining coherence, accessibility, and human quality.
  • Make accessibility a core part of the work.
  • Design for older adults with varying levels of vision, memory, and technology comfort, preserving dignity, clarity, and control.
Requirements

  • Strong interaction and visual design craft, including information architecture, user flows, typography, layout, hierarchy, and production-ready interfaces.
  • Ability to plan and run user research, test with patients and care teams, and turn findings into practical product decisions.
  • Proficiency in Figma, including high-fidelity interactive prototypes, design systems, and component libraries.
