SharkNinja, Inc. in Needham, MA is seeking ambitious Industrial Design & Mechanical Engineering enthusiasts for a Product Design Engineer role with our advanced development teams.

You’ll work at the intersection of design thinking and engineering to create user-centered, innovative products for Shark and Ninja brands. The role emphasizes quick prototyping, testing with user feedback, and translating open-ended challenges into elegant solutions.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s program related to industrial/product/mechanical design.
• Able to work a full-time 40-hour week on-site in Needham, MA.
• Strong interest in user-centered product design, form and function.
• Experience with CAD software and rapid prototyping tools.
• Hands-on prototyping with plastics and metals; familiarity with machine shop equipment.
• Basic electronics knowledge (motors, sensors, PCBAs) desirable.
• Experience with Arduino or Raspberry Pi is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Analytical, detail-oriented with creative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Generate new product concepts with a user-centered approach emphasizing ergonomics and aesthetics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define solutions meeting functional requirements.
• Lead and participate in design studies to solve technical and user-experience challenges.
• Build and test quick turnaround, low-fidelity prototypes and document findings from testing.
• Approach design challenges with curiosity and resilience to rethink and innovate.
