The Product Counsel Role

The Product Counsel is primarily responsible for identifying product risks and formulating management strategies throughout all phases of the product lifecycle, including conception, development, launch, distribution, and end-of-life.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the products and services offered in the Genesys Cloud division.
2. Identify product risks and develop management strategies.
3. Participate in Product Management meetings, roadmap planning, project management meetings, and external trade shows as needed.
4. Assist Contracting Attorneys with legal reviews of open source and AI clauses.
5. Draft and maintain policies and procedures on AI Governance.
6. Support other substantive duties and special projects as requested by the Deputy General Counsel of IP and Product.

Minimum Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
• Background in computer software or telecommunications is strongly preferred.
• Functional knowledge of regulatory issues, marketing laws, privacy, and cybersecurity, including conducting freedom to operate analysis and/or intellectual property.
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence Governance.
• At least 3 years of experience in product counseling.

Desirable Skills:

• Effective communication with colleagues, management, and outside counsel.
• Ability to function as part of a legal team, development groups, and independently.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse personalities and cultures.
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

This role offers a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base range of $156,600.00 - $290,800.00, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, and location. It may also include opportunities for commissions or performance-based bonuses.
