Product Counsel Role

The Product Counsel is primarily responsible for identifying product risks and formulating management strategies throughout all phases of the product lifecycle, from conception to end-of-life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a full understanding of the product & services offered in the Genesys Cloud division.
• Identify product risks and formulate management strategies.
• Attend product management meetings, roadmap planning, project management meetings, and external trade shows as needed.
• Assist contracting attorneys with legal review of open source and AI clauses.
• Draft and maintain policies and procedures on AI governance.
• Assist in other substantive duties and special projects as requested by the Deputy General Counsel of IP and Product.

Minimum Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school required.
• Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
• Background in computer software or telecommunications strongly preferred.
• Functional knowledge of regulatory issues, marketing laws, privacy, and cybersecurity, conducting freedom to operate analysis and/or intellectual property desired.
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence Governance.
• 3+ years of experience in product counseling.

Desirable Skills:

• Effective communication with colleagues, management, and outside counsel.
• Ability to work as part of a legal team, development groups, and independently.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse personalities and cultures.
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

This role offers a market-competitive salary with an anticipated range of $156,600.00 - $290,800.00, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, and location. It may also include opportunities for commissions or performance bonuses.
