Product Counsel Role

The Product Counsel is primarily responsible for identifying product risks and formulating management strategies across all phases of the product lifecycle: conception, development, launch, distribution, and end-of-life.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the products and services offered in the Genesys Cloud division.
2. Identify product risks and develop management strategies.
3. Attend product management meetings, roadmap planning, project management meetings, and external trade shows as needed.
4. Assist Contracting Attorneys with legal review of open source and AI clauses.
5. Draft and maintain policies and procedures on AI Governance.
6. Assist in other substantive duties and special projects as requested by the Deputy General Counsel of IP and Product.

Minimum Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
• Background in computer software or telecommunications strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory issues, marketing laws, privacy, cybersecurity, conducting freedom to operate analysis, and/or intellectual property is desired.
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence Governance.
• At least 3 years of experience in product counseling.

Desirable Skills:

• Effective communication with colleagues, management, and outside counsel.
• Ability to work as part of a legal team, development groups, and independently.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse personalities and cultures.
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

This role offers a market-competitive salary with an anticipated range of $156,600 to $290,800. Actual salaries depend on experience, qualifications, skills, and location. The role may also include opportunities for commissions or performance-based bonuses.
