Socure is seeking an Identity Product Counsel to partner with product, data science, engineering and sales teams to navigate privacy, biometrics, and regulatory requirements as we launch new digital identity and fraud-prevention products.

You will manage legal risk, draft terms, review public statements, and collaborate with Government Affairs. JD required, bar admission, strong cross-functional communication, and a passion for responsible AI.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of combined, relevant experience, including experience at a law firm and/or in-house for a financial institution or fintech.
• Technical background in engineering, computer science, data analytics, statistics, or related areas.
• Familiarity with launching products and advising on the legal and regulatory implications of technology products.
• Familiarity with state and federal privacy and AI laws.
• Fluency translating legal advice into actionable guidance for innovative product and business teams.
• Avid interest in progressing your legal, tech and commercial knowledge, and evolving your skills in communication and advocacy.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage projects effectively.
• Sound and practical business judgment, intellectual creativity, and communication and problem-solving skills.
• A JD and active membership in at least one state bar

Responsabilités

• Provide legal guidance to product, data science, engineering, and sales/marketing teams on the development of our document verification and digital intelligence products.
• Track company and product strategies to manage and minimize legal risks and maintain documentation.
• Advise on the commercial terms (customer and vendor agreements) that affect our products.
• Draft terms of use, product and privacy policies, disclosures, customer documentation, and implement related processes.
• Review external communications about our products, including to customers, regulators, and the press.
• Partner with Data Acquisition & Licensing and Commercial Legal to ensure data sources and customer contract terms align with Socure's rights and restrictions.
• Participate in privacy and data governance programs, including privacy-by-design reviews and DPIAs.
• Support regulator, bank-partner, and customer due diligence and go-to-market efforts.
• Handle government and regulator discussions and disclosures on compliance readiness, in coordination with Government Affairs and external counsel.
• Use AI tools as part of everyday legal workflow and surface ideas for automating legal processes.
• Design training and sales-enablement resources on key legal issues for general and targeted audiences.
• Monitor legal developments and propose compliant innovation strategies.
• Special projects as they may arise.
