Broadcom is seeking a Product Applications Engineer specialized in High Speed Interconnect Products. You will become an expert in the architecture of 100Gbps+ phys and interface with customers and Field Applications Engineers to support pre-sales and successful product launches.

You will handle architecture analysis, debugging, board bring-up, and training while collaborating with Hardware/Software Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Marketing. Some travel to customer sites will be required.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer/Electrical Engineering or CS.
• 8–15+ years in relevant fields with success track record.
• Experience with high-speed PHY/SerDes architectures and applications.

Responsibilities

• Support architecture and hardware questions for high-speed interconnects.

Product Applications Engineer (High Speed Interconnect Products)

Are you looking for a great opportunity as a highly motivated and experienced HSIP product Applications Engineer?

Leverage your background in hardware/software, systems, and technical applications engineering to provide support to Tier 1 customers, who are designing their products with Broadcom's phys.

In this position you will be required to become an expert in the architecture of our 100/400/800/1600/3200 Gigabit phys that allows Broadcom to sustain its market leading position. You will interface with both customers and our Field Applications Engineers supporting pre-sales activity and ensuring the successful launch of the finished products.

Fundamentally your role is to help secure customer design wins and assist customers in bringing their products to market rapidly and successfully. You will contribute directly to the success of the products and customers that you support.

Responsibilities include:

• Support of architecture and low-level hardware questions and issues
• Pre-sales and post-sales support via email, phone, and customer visits
• Documentation

You will work directly with customers and must have good oral and written communication skills to interact with and support these customers. You will also work with a variety of internal employees in Hardware and Software Engineering, Architecture, Field Applications Engineering, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and senior management.

While most work will be performed at Broadcom offices, some work will be done on customer premises necessitating travel.

Job Requirements:

• BS, MS, or post-graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science).
• Minimum of 8 to 15+ years in relevant fields with a strong track record of success.

  • Architecture, programming, or support of complex System on a Chip devices is a plus
  • Register level programming of complex devices
• Practical knowledge of C, C++, and Visual Basic is needed to modify/create simple function/script.
• Hardware, high-speed SerDes, or system (board) experience is a plus.
• Experience with high-speed Signal Integrity issues is a plus.
• Experience with optical components and tester is a plus.
• Experience with PAM4 is a plus.
• Should be able to review PCB layout and schematic
• Experience using Ethernet traffic generator, high-speed scope, Jitter Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, and OTN tester is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is USD 143,800.00 To USD 230,000.00
