Job description

Broadcom is seeking a talented and passionate Field Applications Engineer to join the Sales team and support the world’s leading cloud service providers, OEMs, and channel customers. This role involves designing solutions that use Broadcom PCIe-based products, working directly with customers to understand their requirements, and proposing Broadcom solutions.

The engineer will provide customer training on the necessary tools and design guidelines for successful design, and collaborate with the engineering support team to resolve customer issues.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers and Broadcom’s System Applications Engineers to analyze, debug, and root cause issues found within Broadcom’s PCIe switch and retimer products.
• Assist OEM and cloud customers in properly integrating Broadcom’s PCIe switch and retimer products into GPU, AI/ML platforms, storage servers, and custom designs.
• Guide customers through the design process, including architecture reviews, schematic reviews, and design‑in support, while training them on product features.
• Establish firm relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to advocate for new product features and expedite defect fixes.
• Train customers in the tools, software, and applications needed to implement PCIe switch/retimer designs.
• Provide on‑site customer support for training and debugging critical issues as needed.
• Travel occasionally as required.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 8years’ experience designing complex PCIe‑based products for servers, storage, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence applications with cloud service providers and server OEM customers.
• Hands‑on, thorough knowledge of high‑speed protocols such as PCIe and experience with silicon bring‑up and debug in customer systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Customer‑oriented, goal‑driven, self‑motivated, and able to work independently in an ever‑changing environment.

Compensation&Benefits

The On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for this position is $140,600–$225,000, including sales incentive commission as defined by relevant plan documents. The role is eligible for equity awards under the company’s equity plan.
