Job summary

Broadcom Inc. in Irvine, CA invites experienced engineers to join as a Product Applications Engineer focusing on High Speed Interconnect Products. You will support Tier 1 customers, provide pre- and post-sales engineering, and contribute to product definition, architecture, and roadmaps for 100–3200 Gbps PHYs.

You will work with hardware, software, and firmware bring-up, perform board reviews, debugging, and customer training, while delivering timely design wins and robust technical solutions.

Qualifications

• BS, MS or higher in a relevant engineering field.
• Strong track record in applications engineering and customer interaction.
• Experience with high-speed SERDES and PHY architectures.

Product Applications Engineer (High Speed Interconnect Products)

Are you looking for a great opportunity as a highly motivated and experienced HSIP product Applications Engineer? Leverage your background in hardware/software, systems, and technical applications engineering to provide support to Tier 1 customers, who are designing their products with Broadcom's phys. In this position you will be required to become an expert in the architecture of our 100/400/800/1600/3200 Gigabit phys that allows Broadcom to sustain its market leading position. You will interface with both customers and our Field Applications Engineers supporting pre-sales activity and ensuring the successful launch of the finished products. Fundamentally your role is to help secure customer design wins and assist customers in bringing their products to market rapidly and successfully. You will contribute directly to the success of the products and customers that you support.

Job Requirements

• BS, MS, or post-graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science).
• Minimum of 8 to 15+ years in relevant fields with a strong track record of success.

• OTN experience is a plus.
• Architecture, programming, or support of complex System on a Chip devices is a plus
• Register level programming of complex devices Practical knowledge of C, C++, and Visual Basic is needed to modify/create simple function/script.
• Hardware, high-speed SerDes, or system (board) experience is a plus.
• Experience with high-speed Signal Integrity issues is a plus.
• Experience with optical components and tester is a plus.
• Experience with PAM4 is a plus.
• Should be able to review PCB layout and schematic Experience using Ethernet traffic generator, High-speed scope, Jitter Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, and OTN tester is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is USD 143,800.00 To USD 230,000.00
