Job summary

WalkerHughes Insurance in Carmel, IN is seeking a full-time sales professional to take over an established book and grow new small commercial and select business clients in Indianapolis and Hamilton County. A dedicated service team supports your accounts so you can focus on prospects.

Qualifies: 3+ years in commercial insurance sales, active Indiana P&C license, CIC/CRIS a plus. You will prospect, build relationships, and close, with local travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Established Central Indiana business network preferred.
• CIC, CRIS, or similar designation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Retain and grow an inherited book of small commercial clients.
• Prospect and close new small commercial accounts through referrals, networking, and outreach.
• Build a presence in the Central Indiana business community and with CPAs, attorneys, and bankers.
• Assess client exposures and recommend coverage, including BOP, general liability, property, auto, workers' compensation, and umbrella.
• Market accounts with carrier partners and present proposals in plain language.
• Partner with your account manager on renewals, annual reviews, and cross-selling.
• Meet new business goals and keep your pipeline current in the CRM.

Position Summary

This full-time sales role takes over an established book of business and grows it with new small commercial and select business clients across Indianapolis and Hamilton County, including contractors, professional and medical offices, restaurants, retail, and service firms. A dedicated service team supports your accounts so you can focus on prospects and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation

Competitive base salary plus commission on new and renewal business.

Travel

Regular local travel throughout Indianapolis and Hamilton County.
