Responsibilities

• Retain and grow an inherited book of small commercial clients.
• Prospect and close new small commercial accounts through referrals and outreach.
• Build a presence in the Central Indiana business community with CPAs, attorneys, and bankers.
• Assess client exposures and recommend coverage (BOP, GL, property, auto, workers' comp, umbrella).
• Market accounts with carrier partners and present proposals clearly.
• Partner with your account manager on renewals, annual reviews, and cross-selling.
• Meet new business goals and maintain a current pipeline in CRM.

Position Summary

This full-time sales role takes over an established book of business and grows it with new small commercial and select business clients across Indianapolis and Hamilton County, including contractors, professional and medical offices, restaurants, retail, and service firms. A dedicated service team supports your accounts so you can focus on prospects and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Retain and grow an inherited book of small commercial clients.
• Prospect and close new small commercial accounts through referrals, networking, and outreach.
• Build a presence in the Central Indiana business community and with CPAs, attorneys, and bankers.
• Assess client exposures and recommend coverage, including BOP, general liability, property, auto, workers' compensation, and umbrella.
• Market accounts with carrier partners and present proposals in plain language.
• Partner with your account manager on renewals, annual reviews, and cross-selling.
• Meet new business goals and keep your pipeline current in the CRM.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial insurance sales; experienced commercial account managers ready for sales are welcome.
• Active Indiana P&C license required.
• Proven ability to prospect, build relationships, and close.
• Established Central Indiana business network preferred.
• CIC, CRIS, or similar designation a plus.

Compensation

Competitive base salary plus commission on new and renewal business.

Travel

Regular local travel throughout Indianapolis and Hamilton County.
