Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Produce Manager to lead the produce department with a focus on quality, inventory control, and customer service. You will coach team members, manage schedules, and ensure safety and compliance in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role emphasizes running a productive department, training staff, and collaborating with store leadership to deliver top-quality produce and an outstanding shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and have 1-3 years of experience working in a grocery retail setting with management experience in produce.
• Have good communication skills; and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.)
• Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
• Be able to perform standing, walking, bending, climbing and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Be able to use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 20 feet
• Maneuver six wheel carts up to 20 feet
• Be able to walk up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift
• Achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays
• Knowledge of personnel reports, margins, weekly sales and financial goals
• Outgoing and friendly behavior toward team members and customers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for quality control, merchandising, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the produce department
• Responsible for inventory management
• Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and development discussions, and participate in performance reviews
• Attend and participate at in-store meetings
• Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions with the Store Manager
• Address Team Member concerns with independent judgment
• Document corrective actions with HR partners for performance management
• Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels for productivity
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
• Lead a team to deliver quality product and service and great customer experience
• Serve as a Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed
