Job summary

Earth Fare Rock Hill is seeking an Assistant Produce Department Team Leader to supervise daily operations of the Produce Department and lead a team of clerks. You will ensure quality, freshness, and customer service while meeting department goals and maintaining safety standards.

You will train staff, manage inventory, handle deliveries, and coordinate with store leadership to drive sales and reduce costs. This on-site role requires knowledge of produce and food-safety practices.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years experience with produce and natural/organic products.
• Knowledge of produce industry trends and dietary terms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn Falcon scanner.
• Experience managing shrink, sales, gross profit and overhead.
• Retail or customer service experience 1-2 years.
• Perishable experience and ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train and develop team members: communicate vision, SOPs, guidelines, and financial goals.
• Emphasize customer service, safety, and sanitation.
• Interview, select, train, and support team members.
• Act as key holder to support store operations.
• Supervise production of in-house cut fruit/vegetable program.
• Ensure proper handling of organic products.
• Maintain knowledge of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and packaged goods.
• Maintain high standards of quality control.
• Manager on Duty; may work up to five MOD shifts weekly.
• Order and receive deliveries.
• Schedule team members.
• Review sales, shrink, reports and emails; respond accordingly.
• Conduct monthly department inventory.
• Identify opportunities to reduce expenses.
• Develop and maintain an attractive sales floor per merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain department cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
