Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Produce Manager to lead one of our busiest departments, driving healthy choices and outstanding customer service. You will help manage staff, stock levels, and the department's day-to-day operations.

You’ll oversee ordering, training, and safety procedures while maintaining freshness and quality. The role offers growth opportunities in a fast-paced, community-focused grocer with a strong team culture.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with basic math, weights and measures.
• Dependable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor with a positive attitude for customer interaction.
• Good communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Stand/walk for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate basic Produce equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Produce Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Produce team.
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Maintain freshness standards through proper receiving, processing, packaging, pricing, signage, displaying, and rotation.
• Lead a team to deliver high quality product, top service, and best customer experience.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, developing the Produce team.
• Unload and sort store deliveries, operate and maintain produce equipment.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations and train others.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to store success.
