Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Oakland seeks a Produce Team Lead to supervise and support Team Members, ensuring peak daily operations of the Produce department, coffee, and juice displays. You will assist in training, maintain stock, and drive high-quality customer service in line with company SOPs.

• Extensive knowledge of Produce team procedures and policies.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
• Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner.
• Product knowledge.
• Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
• Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
• Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate.
• Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and delegates tasks to Produce Team Members.
• Works with Produce Trainer to train Team Members in a high-performance team and minimises turnover.
• Assists in training of new Team Members, using learning checklists and training materials.
• Keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated.
• Opens and closes department according to established procedures.
• Ensures all necessary breaks are given.
• Communicates team concerns to the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader.
• Sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution.
• Fosters a positive environment of teamwork, mutual respect, and morale.
• Maintains awareness of customer flows and needs and directs Team Members accordingly.
• Selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members to sustain a high-performance team.
• Provides timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.
• Consistently communicates and models WFM vision and goals.
