Primary Responsibilities

1. Greet, assist, and politely ring out all customers.
2. Maintain company standards for perishables, safety procedures, and organizational standards.
3. Ensure health and safety codes are followed, check pricing and expiration dates, and organize the display to highlight products effectively.
4. Check, record, and maintain cooler/freezer temperatures and perform regular maintenance.
5. Verify and adjust product displays, rotate stock, and ensure proper storage and quality control.
6. Prepare the backroom for receiving merchandise, inspect deliveries, and verify against invoices.
7. Calculate retail prices, update pricing files, and supervise manual price marking when necessary.
8. Manage the removal and reprocessing of damaged or unsalable products.
9. Follow instructions related to store policies, equipment use, and safety standards.

Supervision

Reports directly to the Produce Department Manager.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with produce in a grocery setting preferred.

Specific Tasks

• Lifting, twisting, moving, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain signage and pricing, care for signs, banners, and debris.

Work Environment

Indoor environment with transitions between heat, cold, humidity, and dust from various store areas.
