Primary Responsibilities

1. Greet, assist, and ring out all customers politely.
2. Maintain company standards for perishables, stay updated on safety procedures, and ensure health and safety codes are followed.
3. Check, record, and maintain cooler/freezer temperatures; verify merchandise against invoices; organize and rotate stock; ensure displays are full, colorful, and seasonally appropriate.
4. Prepare the backroom for receipt of merchandise, inspect deliveries for quality and damage, and code-date all items.
5. Price merchandise accurately, update pricing systems, and supervise manual price labeling when needed.
6. Manage damaged or unsalable products, including returning items to the warehouse or marking them down.
7. Lift, twist, and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
8. Maintain signage and cleanliness in the department.
9. Work in a varied environment with temperature and humidity changes.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with produce in a grocery setting preferred.

Additional Tasks

• Ensure signage and pricing are current.
• Care for signs, banners, and maintain cleanliness.

Work Environment

Indoor environment with temperature and humidity variations due to backdoor, compressors, and refrigeration units.
