Job summary

Hy-Vee Produce Clerk role in a busy store environment focused on frontline customer service, stock rotation, and maintaining fresh, inviting displays. Training is provided, with emphasis on safety and quality standards while supporting team members and delivering a positive shopping experience.

You’ll rotate stock, manage deliveries, and assist customers with needs, all while following dress code and department guidelines to keep the produce area clean and inviting.

Qualifications

• No extensive experience required; training provided.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
• Clear communication with customers and co-workers, teamwork.
• Learn and apply sanitation, food safety, and department procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and assist with needs to create a great shopping experience.
• Review merchandise freshness and rotate stock to maintain quality standards.
• Ensure adequate product supply and anticipate daily needs for the department.
• Check in and sort product, review invoices as needed.
• Prepare and replenish products as necessary.
• Maintain sanitation and keep the work area clean, neat, and safe.
• Remove trash timely and assist with department upkeep.
• Order product and price items for customers as needed.
• Answer phones and provide friendly, helpful service to callers.
• Follow Hy-Vee dress code and department guidelines.
• Assist with additional tasks or special projects as they come up.
