Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or BSc preferred.
• At least two years of experience in a purchasing position.
• In-depth knowledge of purchasing functions, inventory, and supply management systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and vendor relationship management.
• Direct experience with spreadsheet applications.
• Ability to use purchasing software.

Responsibilities

• Work with the purchasing manager to run the purchasing department.
• Perform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability and reduce costs.
• Maintain cordial vendor relationships and supervise vendor activities.
• Review purchasing agreements, monitor performance, and renegotiate contracts.
• Use data to determine purchasing needs and manage inventory.
• Manage purchase orders, oversee shipping schedules, and maintain records.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with PO details and identify discrepancies.
• Conduct market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and vendors.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
