Qualifications

• Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
• Buyer 9: No specific type or amount required.
• Buyer 10: One year of professional experience in the purchase, lease or sale of goods, services, or real estate equivalent to a Buyer 9.
• Buyer 12: Three years of professional experience in the purchase, lease or sale of goods, services, or real estate equivalent to a Buyer, including one year equivalent to a Buyer P11.
• Alternate Education and Experience Buyer (Departmental Trainee) 9: Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
• Education Substitution: College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis for up to one half of the required experience.
• To be considered for this position you must: attach transcripts/foreign degree evaluation; foreign degrees must be evaluated.

Responsibilities

• Procure simple to moderate services, commodities, and equipment for MDOT.
• Resolve routine purchasing issues; review and edit specifications.
• Develop selection criteria and vendor requirements; interpret purchasing guidelines.
• Evaluate bids, make awards, and issue contracts.
