Job summary

Michels Corporation in Brownsville, WI is seeking a Buyer to ensure timely purchasing within limited authority, issue purchase orders, and conduct vendor price analysis to identify opportunities.

You will need strong communication skills and the ability to represent Michels in negotiating contracts, terms, and supplier policies, while supporting internal customers and order processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with using eProcurement or eSourcing tools (desired).
• Relevant industry experience (desired).
• A valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles you may be driving and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue purchase orders and requisitions; secure price advantages of quantity buying; compose bid quotations; analyze quotes received; outline performance standards, tolerances, terms, and warranties. Execute contracts up to limits identified by Supply Chain management
• Conduct price and vendor quote analysis to identify new opportunities and complete initial research of vendors
• Maintain current and accurate database information: lead times, open purchase orders, quality, and commitments
• Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers and organizations
• Interface with other divisions and departments to support order processing, shipping, delivery, and quality
