Job summary

Florida Department of Transportation invites applications for Purchasing Agent I in the Commodities and Contractual Services unit within the Procurement Office. The role manages procurement and contracting to ensure quality commodities and services at fair prices with open competition and compliant with laws and DOT policy.

The position requires minimum two years of purchasing experience (one year professional) and an associate degree (or higher).

Qualifications

• Two years of professional or nonprofessional purchasing experience.
• One year of professional purchasing experience required.
• An Associate’s Degree can substitute for two years of the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement and contracting to obtain quality commodities at fair prices.
• Process acquisitions via informal quote, MFMP, PRIDE, RESPECT, ITB/RFP as applicable.
• Prepare and manage amendments, change orders, and renewals.
• Provide training and support to project managers and stakeholders.
• Enter and maintain procurement data and bid/tender documentation.
