Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an entry-level Operational Buyer in Mount Pleasant, PA to support procurement, supplier management, and logistics coordination across projects. You will gain hands-on experience in purchasing, supplier relations, and continuous improvement initiatives in a global technology leader committed to sustainable energy.

You will review BOMs, issue RFQs, manage POs in SAP, and work with project teams and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience, internship exposure, or academic knowledge in procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
• Familiarity with SAP and strong Excel proficiency.
• Understanding of supply chain, logistics, inventory management, and purchasing processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and within cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Review BOMs and issue RFQs to approved suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier proposals based on cost, delivery, lead times, and terms.
• Create and manage POs in SAP while ensuring proper approvals.
• Track and expedite purchase orders to maintain project schedules and material availability.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, and supply issues.
• Coordinate shipment schedules and communicate potential delays to stakeholders.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
• Support supplier performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
