Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a procurement and supply chain professional to support material purchasing, supplier management, logistics, and operational excellence. You will work with project teams and suppliers to ensure timely, quality deliveries.

The role focuses on sourcing, POs, supplier problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives within a global energy technology leader.

Qualifications

• Degree in SCM, business, engineering or related field.
• Experience or internship in procurement or supply chain.
• Familiarity with SAP and Excel.
• Understanding of purchasing, logistics, and inventory processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review BOMs and issue RFQs to approved suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier proposals based on cost, delivery, lead times, and terms.
• Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) in SAP with proper approvals.
• Track and expedite purchase orders to maintain project schedules and material availability.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, and supply issues.
• Coordinate shipment schedules and communicate potential delays to stakeholders.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies with POs, receipts, and invoices.
• Support supplier performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.

How You’ll Make An Impact

Your background

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience, internship exposure, or academic knowledge in procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of supply chain, logistics, inventory management, and purchasing processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
