Job summary

Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is seeking a procurement leader to oversee contracting for professional services, construction, and supplies. You will supervise a team, coordinate with the Office of Procurement Services, and ensure compliance with the Maricopa County Procurement Code and regulatory requirements.

The role emphasizes managing diverse procurement contracts, policy development, and providing training to staff.

Qualifications

• Three years of contract management, procurement, or purchasing experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, or a related field is required.
• Postgraduate degrees or professional-level-related experience may substitute for education or experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate activities and the work of assigned staff, including hiring, training, and performance measurements.
• Represent the Department of Transportation in procurement matters with professionalism and sound judgment.
• Administer procurement processes, assess and minimize risk in solicitation and contracts.
• Generate and review contracts, bid evaluations, RFIs/RFPs, change orders, and related documents for compliance.
• Create/update procurement policies and provide training; prepare regular and ad hoc reports.
