Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Sedalia, MO is seeking a Procurement Supervisor to lead a fast-paced purchasing team in a large-scale manufacturing setting. You will manage inventory, supplier relationships, and material planning while driving cost efficiency.

The role emphasizes people leadership, process improvement, and collaboration with engineering and production to meet the master production schedule and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with relevant purchasing experience.
• 3+ years of progressive purchasing or buying experience.
• 3+ years using Microsoft Excel with advanced formulas and data analysis.
• 2+ years supervising or managing employees, including performance management.
• 2+ years using an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, or a comparable platform.

Responsibilities

• Procurement: Manages a team that plans, purchases and controls inventory to meet the Master Production Schedule and orders backlog; negotiates delivery schedules.
• Forecasts: Reviews shortage forecasts and expedites delivery; coordinates with engineering and production for material planning.
• Suppliers: Develops supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective availability; sources alternative suppliers for critical parts.
• Customer Supply: Plans and purchases materials to support on-time customer shipments and forecasted demand.
• Quality: Ensures specifications are met and analyzes supplier quality trends; identifies alternate sources.
• Management: Develops a high-performance team through recruitment, training, coaching and goal setting.
