Talent Solutions Partners is seeking a Buyer to join our procurement team in Pittsburgh. This role supports day-to-day purchasing, ensures material availability, and implements approved category strategies to optimize cost and service.

You will manage procure-to-pay, collaborate with Operations and Finance, and maintain data integrity in the ERP system, including Microsoft Dynamics 365. A 2+ year purchasing background and strong analytical skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in any major is required or preferred for the role.
• 2+ years of purchasing, materials, supply chain or manufacturing customer-service experience.
• Excel proficiency and ERP purchasing process familiarity; Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
• Ability to analyze supplier delivery, open orders, inventory and cost data and communicate escalations clearly.
• Strong ethics, ownership, attention to detail, service mindset, and collaboration across plant priorities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary purchasing execution partner for designated facilities and their Operations leadership; understand production schedules and working capital impact.
• Execute sourcing strategies, negotiated contracts, approved supplier lists, pricing, and specifications set by Category leadership; escalate exceptions as needed.
• Collaborate daily with Operations, Planning, Inventory, Quality, Finance/AP and Category Management; maintain clear escalation paths and decision rights.
• Procure-to-pay discipline: convert approved demand into accurate purchase orders; confirm price, terms, quantities, delivery dates, coding and approvals; monitor open orders through receipt and invoicing.
• Contract and policy compliance: use approved suppliers, terms, buying channels, and delegated authority; flag off-contract spend and exceptions for resolution.
• Supplier execution and escalation: secure order acknowledgements, maintain realistic promise dates, expedite critical material and coordinate recovery plans.
• Inventory and working capital: review demand, lead times, safety stock, open-PO exposure, and opportunities to lower days on hand without sacrificing service.
• Supplier performance: track delivery and defect data; support corrective actions and scorecards for top suppliers.
• Cost and P&L impact: validate pricing, identify cost-avoidance opportunities and savings for leadership.
