Job summary

Hire Consulting Services in Pittsburgh is seeking a Buyer to support day-to-day procurement for plant operations. You will drive procure-to-pay processes, manage supplier performance, and collaborate with multiple functions to ensure material availability at target cost and delivery.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s degree and 2+ years in purchasing or supply chain, plus Excel and ERP experience, preferably with Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; bachelor’s in supply chain, business, purchasing, or related discipline preferred.
• 2+ years of purchasing, materials, supply chain, or manufacturing customer-service experience required.
• Working proficiency with Excel and ERP purchasing processes; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred.
• Ability to analyze supplier delivery, inventory and cost data, and communicate escalations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary purchasing execution partner for designated facilities and Operations leadership.
• Execute sourcing strategies, negotiated contracts, and approved supplier lists; escalate exceptions as needed.
• Collaborate with Operations, Planning, Inventory, Quality, Finance/AP and Category Management; maintain escalation paths.
• Procure-to-pay discipline: translate demand into purchase orders and manage delivery, pricing, and approvals.
• Ensure contract and policy compliance; flag maverick spend and off-contract pricing for resolution.
