Job summary

The North Carolina Zoo seeks a Procurement Specialist II to manage the Department's P-Card program, reconcile transactions, and ensure compliance with state policies. Based in Raleigh, this role supports the Director of Procurement and coordinates with staff to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree with two years of procurement experience (or equivalent) and demonstrate strong internal controls, vendor relations, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience developing internal controls.
• Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with personnel and/or vendors.
• Demonstrated experience communicating effectively in verbal and/or written form.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two years of procurement experience; or an equivalent education/experience combination.

Responsibilities

• Oversees monthly reconciliation of P-cards (DNCR) using Bank of America Works system.
• Uses NCFS to identify unreconciled or problematic transactions and coordinates resolution.
• Conducts periodic compliance reviews and identifies control gaps; recommends improvements.
• Supports IT solicitations and uses RFP/RFQ/IFB processes for contract initiation, evaluation, and awards.
